We provide professional sample collection services on a user pays basis for national sports organisations, international federations, major event organisations and other anti-doping organisations.
Our services include the collection of urine and/or blood samples and can take place in-competition or out-of-competition.
With more than 20 years of experience in anti-doping, we have a well-established network of accredited doping control officers located around the country with broad experience in doping control, including at major international events. Our sample collection processes are fully compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code and the International Standard for Testing and Investigations.

User Pays Fund
Need support with testing costs for events or world record attempts?
Our User Pays Fund can support national sporting organisations and individual athletes with the costs of required testing.
If you’re an NSO hosting an international competition in New Zealand, or an athlete attempting a world record in New Zealand, and testing is required by your International Federation, we may be able to help with up to 50% of the costs.
To date, we’ve supported the following events:
- Tri Taranaki Festival
- WBSC Softball World Cup
- VICTOR Oceana Team Championships
- 2023 Oceana Triathlon Cup

Reason for application
NSO is hosting an international competition in New Zealand and is required to use DFSNZ’s sample collection and testing services.Funding available
DFSNZ will cover 50% of sample collection and testing costs.Eligibility criteria
1. NSOs must have fully adopted the SADR per DFSNZ’s best practice;
2. All athletes subject to the IF’s rules and requirements must have completed education (in person or Level 1 online);
3. Agreed DFSNZ messaging to be integrated into all athlete event communications, including education links being sent to participants (if wider audience);
4. Must include DFSNZ branding as part of event promotional collateral;
5. Must collaborate with DFSNZ to promote clean sport content via social media.Note: A maximum of two applications per financial year are permitted.
Application deadline
NSOs must apply a minimum of three months before the competition commences*
*waived in the first six months after establishment of the fund. -

Athlete making a world record attempt in Aotearoa New Zealand and is required to DFSNZ’s sample collection and testing servicesFunding available
DFSNZ will cover 75% of sample collection and testing costsEligibility criteria
1. Must have completed education (in person or Level 1 online);
2. Must acknowledge clean sport and DFSNZ on social media.Note: A maximum of two applications per financial year are permitted.
Application deadline
Athletes must apply a minimum of two weeks before their record attempt
